Although longer, the evenings are still cold and dark this February. What's better than a cosy creative evening? There's something so lovely about being inside, making something whilst drinking tea, hot chocolate or whatever your favourite warm drink is.
I think there's something extra cosy when your chosen creative activity is working with embroidery and fabrics, especially when they are all over your lap making an extra warm layer.
So many textile activities lend themselves to a creative evening in
quilting, especially hand quilting
hand embroidery
creative repair or visible mending
slow stitch
knitting
crochet
spinning
Creative repair or visible mending is a great way to spend a cosy evening whilst making your clothes last longer and being kinder to the planet. You could even get a group of friends around to have a creative gathering.

Tips for creative evenings
If your room is not well lit, a day light bulb in a lamp can make a huge difference
Have everything you need ready, including materials and equipment - you may like to buy a kit so you have everything provided or download a workshop with a list of materials
Make a relaxing, cosy space with favourite drinks, music and warm blankets
Gather friends to be creative with or choose a quiet evening just for you
Whatever you decide to do I'd love to hear about it in the comments below.
