Narrating hidden stories and memories protecting and honouring them in stitch.

My practice is centred around connection — between people, places, and the quiet stories that shape us. Through my textile artworks and workshops, I create spaces that invite reflection, dialogue and shared experience. Whether through the quiet calmness of stitch or the energy of a group collaboration, my work seeks to connect personal narratives, encourage reflection and self-expression, whilst supporting both mental and physical wellbeing.

From my studio in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, I create research-based textile art that protects and honours hidden stories and memories, preserving them in thread and stitch.

Known for high-quality, narrative textile pieces, I explore connection to identity, people and changing personas. Narrating the quirky, often overlooked stories and facts, my work appeals to those drawn to thoughtful, tactile art that invites quiet reflection, conversation and connection on a personal level.
Every material I use — from fabric to found objects, metal to wood — is chosen to enrich the story being told. Selected for both form and meaning each material carries its own history further adding to the narrative of my work.

Each piece is unique, using deconstruction and reconstruction techniques, rebuilding fragments to become whole again, much like stories retold over time.

I also bring people together through creative workshops and collaborations, offering spaces for reflection, dialogue and shared making — extending the same sense of connection that underpins my artistic practice. I create spaces that nurture creativity, wellbeing and shared understanding through making.

Workshops

Workshops are relaxed, inspiring and informal - a perfect escape from the real world. Each workshop is designed to nourish creativity and enable you to make your own unique piece of textile artwork whilst in the company of like-minded people.

Reflections is inspired by the connections we have with those who have gone before us; perhaps in certain traits, identity or looks or perhaps through the special things we keep and pass on to others.

I lead and teach community arts projects that give a voice to the group and that promote inclusivity, connections and creative confidence. Passionate about art being for everyone, I specialise in reaching those less likely to engage with the arts.
