Welcome! I’m Louise a textile artist and tutor narrating hidden stories and memories, protecting and honouring them through stitch. I create artwork for exhibitions, collaborations and commissions. I teach workshops for a variety of organisations and groups across the UK.

Materials are central to my work; it is essential that they further the narrative. I often select preloved or found items, considering who used prior to me and why. I use hand and free machine embroidery in my work, as well as natural dyeing and other techniques relevant to the narrative. I love working with non-traditional textile items, incorporating them into my work to further the emotions and stories behind it.

As a tutor I am a strong believer in nurturing individual creativity; my workshops encourage you to create artwork that is as unique as you are and to connect with your creativity in a supportive and relaxed environment. I have worked with a variety of community groups creating bespoke artwork as well as teaching workshops. I offer private tuition, mentoring and teach workshops for a range of organisations.

Commissioning artwork ensures that you have a completely personal, unique piece of artwork for yourself or a loved one. Please contact me to discuss your ideas – I look forward to hearing from you.
