Description
This three hour workshop held in Durham, will take you from being a novice or new embroiderer through to knowing a range of stitches and having the confidence to continue after the workshop finishes. We'll start at the beginning with lots of tips on how to thread a needle more easily and how to choose fabric and threads as well as how to use an embroidery hoop effectively. We'll then move on to learning a selection of hand embroidery stitches; how to work them traditionally and how to alter them to get new and interesting effects. Your embroidery will be worked on to your choice of fabric to make your own unique hand embroidery sampler to show off your newly learnt skills. A carefully curated gift box is given to each participant so that the creativity can continue after the workshop finishes. All materials are included as well as refreshments. The workshop is held at The Weigh To Shop, Durham from 2 -5pm. The shop will be closed to the public for the duration of the workshop. You are welcome to browse, stock up on products and purchase refreshments during the workshop. There is parking outside The Weigh To Shop and also a short distance away. Free tickets are available for carers who do not take part in workshop activity. Please contact me to arrange prior to the workshop.

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your workshop place for a full refund or to switch to another workshop three weeks notice is required. Cancellations after this date will not receive any refund either in full or part. This is because materials have been purchased and room hire paid for. Should you need to cancel your place with less than three weeks notice I am happy to see if anybody on the waiting list is able to buy your place - this will incur a 20% charge for refund costs and admin time. You are welcome to send someone else on your behalf with no fees payable, though I must be informed prior to the workshop to ensure that records are accurate. If I am not informed of this prior to the workshop then the substitute person unfortunately will not be able to attend.
