Winter's Leaves a framed piece of textile wall art featuring the effect of Winter on the leaves, evoking memories of crisp walks through woods and pathways. The leaves in shades of grey with embroidered flashes of deep reds, browns and yellow are heat manipulated to give the effect of the skeleton leaves so often seen in Winter - all part of nature's process.
- framed textile wall art
- innovative, unique textile art
- free machine embroidered
- delicate and stark reflecting Winter
Winter's Leaves is on a base of Lutradur an unusual material for textile artwork. The leaves carefully replicated with oil pastels combined with free machine embroidery and heat manipulation create a stark, minimal and delicate effect that beautifully encapsulates the feeling of Winter. These combined techniques give an interesting texture of raised ruffled areas juxtaposed with the smooth and flatness.
The artwork is carefully mounted to be slightly raised adding to the interest and to allow the viewer to look deep within as if they were looking into a stunning pile of leaves on a Winter walk. For this reason there is no glass on the frame.
Winter's Leaves is for those who love Winter, gardeners and those who love innovative and conceptual artwork that intrigues and creates conversation. It is perfect for the study, garden rooms, bedrooms, lounge and entrance hall. The frame is suitable for wall hanging or to place on a shelf or mantelpiece, measuring 35 x 25 centimetres approximately. The artwork measures approximately 24 x 18 centimetres at the widest point. Winter's Leaves is created using techniques that mean it cannot be replicated making it a unique piece of artwork.
Part of the Nature's Reminiscence collection; there are other complementary pieces here.
