Sieved Day Dreams is a unique textile artwork hand embroidered directly on to a wooden vintage sieve. Inspired by and exploring the roles of women who are or who feel constrained by domesticity and social expectations. Using shades of blues, browns, and white vintage threads the depicted woman day dreams her most precious plans and ideas, all those new and exciting things she would dearly love to do.

Sieved Days Dreams is for those who enjoy displaying and owning unusual, conceptual and contemporary artwork. The smoothness of the vintage sieve outer contrasting with the sharpness of the metal reflects and references how a person's life can look fabulous to the outside world, yet inside they are yearning for a different way of being. Measuring approximately 19 centimetres across at the widest point and 10 centimetres deep, Sieved Day Dreams is ideal to display in a cabinet, on a shelf or window sill with the light streaming through.
The colour palette is ideal for many rooms, including study, lounge, bedrooms and even the kitchen. Sieved Day Dreams is a lovely treat for yourself to add finishing touches to a room, or as a gift for a loved one - perhaps to remind them to keep reaching for their dreams.
Part of the Reflections collection; there are other complementary pieces here.
Reflections is inspired by the connections we have with those who have gone before us; perhaps in certain traits, identity or looks or perhaps through the special things we keep and pass on to others. Fabrics often in the form of clothing, letters, photos and ephemera are all collected and stored to remind us of times past and to help us treasure memories. This work explores why we keep those specific things and the stories it can tell about us.
Sieved Day Dreams will be packaged carefully to arrive in perfect condition; collection from Saltburn by the Sea or events I am attending is welcomed.
