Late Summer, a long, thin hand and free motion embroidered textile artwork on naturally dyed fabrics is a beautiful deep purple as seen widely during later summer months. The pop of dark embroidery adds a texture to the work, with the paler embroidery lines considering the travels of Summer. It evokes memories of special days in hot summers surrounded by nature and loved ones.
 
Late Summer is for those who enjoy bringing nature into their home through art, those who gain joy from having unusual and one off pieces of artwork on display and the conversations that they lead to. With this being a larger artwork it is especially suited to living areas, sizeable bedrooms, hallways or individual office spaces. Made using naturally dyed fabrics from plants I have collected and then taken to my studio, the dye process takes several days. The different purple hues are creating using dyeing methods that allow the colour to develop further. The fabrics were then cut and pieced together, before the embroidery is added one stitch at a time. The processes and techniques used to create this artwork mean that it is impossible to create another the same, making this a one off unique piece of art.

Late Summer is created using naturally dyed fabrics, and therefore it is not advisable to hang in direct sunlight as this will cause the fabrics to fade.
 
Late Summer will come beautifully and expertly packaged to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition, with free postage via Royal Mail.
