Flowers is a free standing textile artwork intricately hand embroidered directly on to a vintage wooden sieve, combining the traditional with a contemporary. The deep reds and oranges of the flowers perfectly highlight the browns of the sieve, complete with it's beautiful age related markings that share its narrative. Whilst the sieve is no longer suitable for practical use, here it has been turned into an artwork to be loved for years to come. Flowers was inspired by late Summer walks through the valley, down to the beach and seeing the beautiful array of wild flowers.
