Description

This relaxed, yet informative workshop will take you further along your embroidery journey enabling you to create new and more complex embroidery work. What we'll do During the workshop you will learn how to work new, slightly more difficult stitches, how to to alter the effect of them and explore how and where to use them in you work. You'll learn how to use different types of thread, including coton a broder and metallic thread. All of the embroidery stitches will be added to a piece of fabric for you to build up your own sampler or image to show your new found skills. The workshop is designed to offer protected creative time, without pressure to do day to day tasks like putting the laundry on! A chance to develop your skills and connect with like minded people away from the busy world around us. Working in a small group, with a maximum of 8 people, there will be lots of one to one support and guidance, the chance to ask all of the questions you need to as well as to get to know others at the workshop. The workshop will have lots of demonstrations of the stitches and samples to inspire you to continue at home once the workshop is over. Who this workshop is for This workshop is for those who already have some hand embroidery knowledge or who have attended my Introduction to Hand Embroidery workshop. You need to know how to work back stitch, running stitch and satin stitch. If you aren't sure if this workshop is right for you please contact me and I'll be happy to help. What's included All materials are included. If you have particular embroidery accessories such as a hoop or scissors you enjoy using please feel free to bring them, though this is not necessary. The Venue The workshop is held at the Weigh To Shop, 29C Front St, Pity Me, Durham DH1 5EE from 2-5pm, which will be closed to the public for the duration of the workshop.
