Calmness is a free motion embroidered textile artwork on hand coloured Khadi paper, that explores the tranquillity of nature, evoking memories of peaceful walks. The texture and deckle edges of the Khadi paper along with the dark greens and blue greys give a sense of a quiet morning outdoors, just simply being and watching all that nature has to give.

The Khadi paper was hand coloured in my studio, carefully selecting those colours that are bountiful on quiet mornings outdoors. Calmness was then free motion embroidered using a sewing machine as a pen, to create the details that complete the artwork before being framed.
