Description
This relaxed and inspiring workshop will show you how to take those precious snippets of fabrics out of the drawer where they can't be seen and meaningfully use them to create your own unique fabric vessels. Combining fabric with hand stitch you'll create vessels that can be used as a beautiful, unique ornament or a have a more practical use such as a thread holder or organiser for your home. What we will do Your vessel will be made from a combination of pre-loved fabrics and those that are too small for other projects, making this a more sustainable approach to textiles. Selecting threads from a wide range of choices, you'll add details with calming hand embroidery turning fabrics into a 3 dimensional artwork. Each vessel will be unique to you, with each person supported to make their own personal artwork rather than a replica of mine. Through teaching in this way, you'll gain confidence and skills to keep making after the workshop has finished as well as something that reflects your style and personality. Making and embroidering your vessel in a small group, maximum of 10, will allow for plenty of support and guidance when needed, a chance to ask all of the questions you have as well as being able to get to know those at the workshop with you. Who the workshop is for This workshop is for those who enjoy a more sustainable approach to textiles and those who would love to explore their creativity further. Suitable for people of all levels of embroidery experience, this workshop is an ideal way to have a few hours of protected creative time away from the demands of the busy world we live in, making connections with others as well as learning new textile techniques.
