Inspired by flora and fauna we will create a beautiful piece of textile art using your sewing machine as a mark making tool. After creating a range of samples using different techniques, including applique and stitch manipulation, you'll be supported to create your own unique piece of textile art suitable to be framed or as a panel for a bag or cushion. Different materials, including fabric and paper will be explored along with simple methods of transferring a design to fabric. All materials are included and the workshop is suitable for all levels of experience from beginners to those more experienced. The workshop runs from 10-3 at Articentric, Dundas Street West, Saltburn TS12 1BL. Help is available to carry your machine into the workshop space should you need it. You will need to bring your own sewing machine, bobbins, a spare needle, a free motion embroidery foot and instruction manual if you have it. It is important that you can either cover or lower the feed dogs on your machine - if you're unsure about this please contact me with the make and model of your machine and I'll be happy to help. Most machines do have this option. Refreshments are included; however you will need to bring your own lunch.
