Lost Memories, a conceptual piece of textile art with naturally dyed fabrics, real leaves and hand embroidery with vintage threads. It explores the loss of memory and how everyday happenings such as walks and collecting precious found items can be forgotten forever. The everyday represented by the real leaves and the paths we take intricately hand embroidered around them, with the central space reflecting upon what is lost.

Lost Memories features naturally dyed vintage fabrics pieced together as our memories should be, overlapping slightly and creating a vision. The real leaves, preserved to last, are central to this work with hand embroidery stitches taking their wandering path around them in reds, golds. browns and dark greens giving an Autumnal look to the artwork. These stitches give a slightly raised texture to the work and draw the eye around each leaf on a journey. Lost Memories is a delicate artwork, that encourages contemplation and recall of memories - those we spend time with, the places we visit and events we share.
